  1. Announcement

The National Centre for Nuclear Research together with the Warsaw University of Technology, University of Warsaw and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid are organizing the third symposium from the series of Theory Meeting Experiment which will be held in Warsaw, Poland, September 1921, 2018. This year we focus on measurements performed using Water Cherenkov detectors. This technique has been used by neutrino experiments for decades and already provided us with many interesting measurements including the discovery of neutrino oscillation phenomena and the first detection of Supernova neutrinos. We are pleased to offer a comprehensive overview of water Cherenkov detectors design and the principles of its operation. At the workshop the status of our knowledge of neutrino interactions and its usage for neutrino oscillations measurements will be presented. Finally the full spectrum of physics program of Water Cherenkov detectors will be discussed – completed measurements and what is planned in future projects. Participants will have a chance to present details of their studies during poster sessions.     • A history of  Water Cherenkov experiments in neutrino physics

    • The principles of the detector design including photosensors, electronics, civil engineering, water purification and Gadolinium doping

    • An overview of Water Cherenkov detection technique and event reconstruction

    • Neutrino interactions and modelling of neutrino interactions with matter

    • Physics measurements of Water Cherenkov detectors for past, current and future experiments:

      – Solar, atmospheric and accelerator neutrino oscillation results

      – Supernova neutrinos

      – Searches for proton decay

                – Astrophysical connections

                – Indirect dark matter searches

  1. Call for posters

We encourage young researchers to submit proposals for the poster session. Abstract submission is possible via the Conference web page during the registration. In order to be considered for a poster session an abstract needs to be submitted before June 15, 2018. You will be notified on approval of your poster by the end of July 2018.

  1. Registration

Registration through our Conference web page will be available on April 1st, 2018. We ask for 130EUR conference fee for early birds registration for a staff person, while students are asked to pay 65EUR. After 15 June 2018 the conference fee will be set to full price of 160EUR for staff and 75EUR for students.

  1. Accommodation

Numerous hotels are available in the centre of Warsaw near the conference site  and can be found using your favourite booking portal. Participants may also apply for the accommodation in the hotel of University of Warsaw with reduced prices set for guests of our conference. Detailed information about the Hera hotel can be found under the Accommodation link. Arrangement of that hotel need to be made during registration process.

  1. Conference Venue

The symposium will be held at Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer Management of Warsaw University of Technology located near Politechnika Metro station, nearby intersection of Lech Kaczyński and Niepodległości streets.

  1. Travel information

The conference venue is located about 30min ride from Fryderyk Chopin Airport by bus 188 very close to the city centre.
